URSULA PhD student attends prestigious conference Posted: 01/09/2009

Manchester University, venue of the Royal Geographical Society conference

One of the URSULA DTA's, Peggy Haughton, attended the renowned Royal Geographical Society with IBG Annual International Conference 2009 in Manchester at the end of August. She presented a paper entitled 'Power and expertise in the collaborative hegemony of river policy' as part of a paper session on the theme of 'valuing place'. The paper discussed the role of power and expertise in determining policy outcomes in the context of urban river basins, an issue that will be taken forwards in her PhD.
