URSULA staff 'Don' their gloves for a river cleanup Posted: 04/06/2009

image On Tuesday 26th May, URSULA researchers headed down to the River Don in the city centre for a clean-up day with the River Stewardship Company.

We filled a skip with shopping trolleys, litter and other debris, making a small contribution 'on the ground' to the quality of our local river. For more information about Sheffield's River Stewardship Company please visit www.the-rsc.co.uk.

The event was part of a month-long series of events organised by the Catchment Science Centre hosted at the University's ICOSS building, including a public debate on 'what does river restoration mean in urban environments?'. A report on this event will be uploaded to our events page soon. To see the pictures click here.
